What To Expect

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, in person services are currently withheld until further notice.

Thank you for visiting our website. Please enjoy your time here, click around to learn more about our ministries and what we believe, read through the Frequently Asked Questions below, listen to a message or two from Pastor Walker, and let us know if you have any further questions.

We invite you to experience Phillips Temple Church in person. We know that looking for a new church can be intimidating, so whether you’ve grown up in church, never been to church, or are coming back to church, our desire is that you feel welcomed and accepted. We look forward to meeting you and your family.

WE ARE ALL GOD’S PEOPLE

COMING TOGETHER

What kind of church is Phillips Temple Church?

Phillips Temple Church is a member of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church Denomination.

What time and how long are your Sunday services?

Phillips offers two services on Sunday at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Both of our services offer great worship music, a relevant message, a welcoming, loving atmosphere, and friendly people who are eager to meet you and connect with you.

Our services are virtually identical, so feel free to come at the service time that is most convenient for you.

Our services last approximately 1.45 hours. We recommend arriving about 15 minutes before the service to allow time for parking and seating.

What is your worship like?
Bring your Bible: Phillips is a bible based church. Worship through music is a high priority for Phillips, as we believe our praise ushers in the Holy Spirit. Our praise team and choirs minister worship songs with a full band.

Our gifted musicians and singers also present original worship songs and music as they allow the Holy Spirit to flow through them.

We also believe in worshiping God through dance and drama. Phillips has a special focus in the creative arts. We use music, song, dance, drama, as well as technology, such as video presentations, to worship God and teach His word.

We are excited to use our anointed time of praise and worship as an avenue to worship God. We want everyone who comes through the door to experience the life changing power of worship through music, according to Psalm 100:1-4.

Where will my kids go?

Phillips Temple embraces the concept of the total family worship experience.  Children and Youth are a vital component of our worship and there are many opportunities for children and youth jnvolvement.  Ministries currently available for children and youth, ages infant- teenagers, include:

What should I wear?

There is no dress code at our church.  Many people dress up, and just as many come dressed casually. When you worship with us you should be comfortable. Your comfort may be traditional church attire, jeans and sneakers or business casual. Come as you are!  Matthew 11:28-30

Will I be asked to give an offering?

As a guest, you are welcome but not expected to make an offering. The Tithes and Offerings portion of our service is a time of celebration at Phillips. Our members are excited to give as part of their commitment to God and the church, according to Luke 6:38.

As a visitor, will I have to say anything or be singled out?

No, You will not be asked to say anything or introduce yourself as a visitor. As our way of welcoming you, we ask First Time Visitors to complete a guest information card that will be collected during the worship service.
